Delta System

There are many star systems in the Deltadim universe. Among them are many worlds of the most diverse nature. Due to advanced physical and biological technologies, many such worlds are inhabited by a wide variety of life forms, including intelligent characters.

Both the environment and the characters are a complex configuration of many components — from protein structures and silicon to dark matter, giving rise to new forms of existence.

The transformation, based on scientific understanding of the world, creativity and amazing discoveries in a variety of fields, has made the nature of such planets complex, diverse, amazing and at the same time safe.

There are no insurmountable biochemical barriers between creatures, you can live peacefully on inhabited planets, the most that may need to be done is minor adjustments in the body.

✦ ✦ ✦

Delta is one of these inhabited systems, located in the Bode Galaxy. It consists of one star Deltaspark and six celestial bodies. The planets are named in order from the center — Δ from 01 to 06, but some of them have alternative names.

The first two planets from Deltaspark are mostly populated. They have the most comfortable conditions for many characters. Since both planets are located at a suitable distance from the star, the tilt of their axes is minimal, and they move in smooth concentric orbits, and the hydrosphere is evenly distributed - they are dominated by a mild and pleasant climate all year round.

Δ-01 and Δ-02 have rich and diverse resources, many interesting structural phenomena, which are being studied and actively used in the public economy.

Also, both planets have a favorable surface area to mass ratio, which results in relatively low gravity and at the same time quite large spaces.

On the remaining planets and celestial bodies there are only separate enclaves with a small population, and include mining complexes, automated production and special laboratories — everything that requires special conditions. A significant proportion of the local population consists of robotic characters and adapted space characters, for example, Micro space cats.

Micro in the Flying Saucer

The populated areas of planets consist of districts. The district is a territory united by a combination of natural and production and cultural features determined by it. Each district may have its own distinct style in the arts — architecture, music, and graphics—and be close to neighboring regions.

As elsewhere, Deltadim uses a pair of languages — Lingua Logica (Logic) and its own version of Biotalk, divided into many mutually intelligible subdialects.

And now, let us give a description of all the celestial bodies of the system.

Deltaspark

An orange, moderately warm K-class star with a diameter of about 1400 kilometers and a mass of 2.8·10^27 tons. Due to the lower temperature, the habitable zone is relatively close. From nearby planets, the star appears as a white, relatively large, but dim disk.

Alterra

Alterra is a rocky planet, composed primarily of basalt and covered in water with a rich biosphere. The land surface is made up of four continents and many smaller islands. Water, in addition to the seas and oceans, also abundantly and evenly covers the land in the form of rivers and inland reservoirs, sometimes very impressive inland seas. There is a lot of groundwater in Δ-01.

The minimum tilt (4°) of the axis virtually eliminates the seasonality of the climate; relative "seasonality" is observed only in the altitudinal zone - the higher, the colder. Conventionally, there is a dry season and a rainy season. Humidity also decreases slightly as a result of shifting deeper into the continents, but not much.

Biomes and the biota inhabiting them mix in a bizarre way and fill the planet with new combinations, sometimes very interesting. Biomes can be divided into mountainous, temperate, coastal and purely marine.

Continents Δ-01 — Lindev, Dowe, Flave, Desmond — grouped closer to the same meridian and make up the continental hemisphere. The central continent links the other three and is the only one connecting north to south.

Cities are evenly distributed over land (by the way, there are also underwater ones, but they are few). Some are huge and solid metropolises, others are sparse buildings with a collection of low-rise buildings, abundantly interspersed with forests, hills, ponds and other natural formations.

An example of a metropolis is such a wonderful city as Texui. An example of a suburban city is Sweetenbaum.

The magnetic poles do not coincide with the planet’s rotation axis, and they are also located in the ocean. To navigate by magnetic field, you have to perform special recalculations.

Carbonia

A carbon planet with its own unique features. Bizarre piles of carbide-diamond masses of continents, interspersed with seas of petroleum-like substance.

The planet is covered with a dense atmosphere, which, due to the greenhouse effect, provides additional heat retention and has a positive effect on climate mitigation. The local climate can be called humid.

The corresponding biota is characters with a different biochemistry, partially inorganic components. Local organisms are closer to robots than to protein organisms. Robotization of characters here has reached significant heights. We actively exchange experiences with them and are under joint influence. So we brought them interesting solutions in the field of protein biodevelopment.

Urbanization has evenly covered the entire planet, albeit in relatively sparse labyrinths of urban development - from residential neighborhoods to industrial areas. A dense infrastructure network closely connects all components of this planet-city.

Δ-03

Warm white gas giant. It consists of helium, hydrogen and water vapor, and has a small system of satellites. It is interesting for its huge reserves of gaseous matter and rare exotic substances.

Δ-04

Aquatic subgiant giant sky blue. It consists of a solid core, a watery mantle and a significant atmosphere. In addition to helium and hydrogen, it contains large quantities of gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, water and xenon.

Δ-05

This planet is interesting due to the presence of a helium atmosphere of moderate density and a hydrosphere of liquid nitrogen. The main surface colors are many shades of brown and gray. Δ-05 has a very rugged, irregular terrain, representing an amazing jumble of mountains, rocks, hummocks and bottomless canyons. Its incredible structures attract many geologists, mineralogists and chemists.

Δ-06

The planet is similar in its constituent rocks to Δ-05, but is strikingly different from it in structure. If the previous planet is a kind of "loose pile" of rocks, then Δ-06 looks perfectly smooth. This is due to the fact that its mantle is more differentiated and lighter ices make up its surface and upper layers of the mantle. In addition, this planet has no atmosphere.
